The SRTF Announces a New Delivery of Tractors & Agriculture Equipment as Part of its “Agricultural Support to Farmers” Stabilization Efforts in Ar-Raqqa Governorate

Ar-Raqqa – Monday, 25 March 2019 – The SRTF announced today the delivery of ten additional tractors and various agricultural equipment to cooperatives in Ar-Raqqa governorate as part of the its: “Agriculture Support to Farmers – Phase I”, under SRTF’s “Filling the Void” stabilization programme.

This brings the total delivered agriculture tractors to 16 tractors, three combine harvesters and agricultural ancillary equipment. The delivered equipment will be shared among member farmers and used to cultivate and harvest their lands. Commenting on this delivery, the Director General of the SRTF Eng. Hani Khabbaz said: “Deliveries under this project will directly contribute to increasing crop production, enhancing food security and improving the living conditions of local communities in Ar-Raqqa governorate.”

The project is expected to directly benefit 2,100 farmers cultivating approximately 2,500 hectares of land and will indirectly benefit the farmers’ families providing immediate relief to Syrians living in areas liberated from Daesh.
