The SRTF Delivers Three Harvesters As Part of Its Project Reestablishing Seed Production and Multiplication Programmes in Aleppo, Idleb, and Hama Governorates

Turkey – Monday, 3 June 2019- The SRTF announced the delivery of three harvesters to its Implementing Entity (IE) under project:"Reestablishing Seed Production and Multiplication Programmes in Aleppo, Idleb, and Hama Governorates" today. The delivery took place at a zero point on the Turkish-Syrian border.

This delivery is part of ongoing deliveries under this project that aim to support the IE address food insecurity issues in Aleppo Governorate. Today’s delivery is an essential part of support for the cultivation and harvesting of cereals, an important food commodity that is helping communities in targeted areas.

With an 18-month estimated life span, the project is estimated to benefit some 225,000 people, including 20,000 farmers directly. On the other hand, the project is estimated to benefit some 2 million people indirectly as a result of food price stabilization, reduced bread prices, family-wide food security, and economic growth.
