The SRTF Delivers Six Motorcycles in the North of Aleppo Governorate

Turkey - Thursday, 26th September 2019 - The SRTF Management Unit delivered six motorcycles with accessories to the implementing entity of the SRTF “Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate – Phase II”. The motorcycles will be used to support the Implementing Entity (IE) staff to manage the project operations.

The project aims to enhance food security by addressing the shortage of wheat in the local market. The SRTF will work to supply additional quantities of soft wheat to ensure bread production to meet the growing demand for bread to feed the growing population of northern Aleppo countryside.

At a total cost of € 6.2 million, this project will have a significant impact on the lives of the population in the targeted areas. The project will benefit about 175,000 people each month by increasing bread production. In addition, the project will create jobs in the transport, services and production sector for more than 2,000 people in the targeted areas.
