The SRTF Delivers 28 Tractors as Part of its “Agriculture Support to Farmers – Phase III”

Ar-Raqqa– Thursday, 29 Aug 2019 - The SRTF announced the delivery of 28 agriculture tractors to Ar-Raqqa governorate under Phase III of its project: “Agriculture Support to Farmers” which is part of the SRTF’s “Filling the Void” stabilization programme in areas liberated from Daesh.

 

Today’s dispatch is first delivery of agricultural equipment of tractors and combine harvesters in addition to agricultural ancillary equipment under this project. And in line with the SRTF’s work approach in previous phases, the delivered equipment will be shared in an organized manner among member farmers to ensure maximum benefit for all.


Commenting on today’s update, the SRTF Director General Eng. Hani Khabbaz, commended this progress and said: "The SRTF will continue to exert efforts to support agriculture in a comprehensive manner which will positively contribute to increasing crop production, enhance food security and improve the living conditions of targeted communities in Ar-Raqqa Governorate.”

The project is expected to directly benefit 2,300 farmers cultivating approximately 7,000 hectares of land and will indirectly benefit the farmers’ families providing immediate relief to Syrians living in areas liberated from Daesh.
