The SRTF Delivers Two Ambulances and Four Electricity Generators to Aleppo Governorate
Turkey – Friday, 23 June 2017 - The SRTF Management Unit delivered two ambulances and four electricity generators to local councils in number of communities in the Governorate of Aleppo today. The delivery, which is part of the SRTF’s “Filling the Void” project, took place at a zero point on the Turkish-Syrian border.
The two ambulances will operate in the rehabilitated medical facilities of three cities in the moderate opposition held areas of Aleppo Governorate. They will meet some of the pressing needs of emergency cases and transportation of disabled patients in the three cities.
The electricity generators, of which two are of 22 KVA capacity and two of 110 KVA capacity, will operate in the rehabilitated water supply pump stations in four towns under moderate opposition control in Aleppo Governate.
The SRTF’s Filling the Void project was developed as a rapid response mechanism to deal with the extensive damage incurred by public services and infrastructure in recently liberated areas. Much of the damaged infrastructure affects sectors that the SRTF seeks to rehabilitate (i.e., water and sanitation networks, waste management services, health services, electricity networks, and educational facilities).
