The SRTF Delivers Polyethylene Sheets and Straps for a Food Security Project in Dar’a and Quneitra Governorates
Jordan – Saturday, 12 August 2017 – The SRTF Management Unit delivered a large quantities of Polyethylene (PE) sheets, High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) covers and and straps to the Implementing Entity (IE) of its “Enhancing Food Security of Dar’a and Quneitra Governorates” project today. The delivery took place today at a zero point on the Jordanian-Syrian border in coordination with the Jordanian authorities.
The delivery included 500 rolls of PE sheets of different sizes, 399 rolls of HDPE covers and 2400 rolls of straps (50mt each). The delivered quantities are part of several deliveries under this project, which aims to address current food insecurity situation in Dar’a and Quneitra Governorates.
The project is expected to support the storage of the Syrian wheat, maintain availability of bread at affordable prices and secure availability of flour for local bakeries to the benefit of about 1.4 million inhabitants of the targeted areas of the two governorates.
