The SRTF Delivers Personal Protection Equipment to Farmers in Ar-Raqqa Governorate

Ar-Raqqa - Sunday, 6th October 2019 - As part of its agricultural support activities to stabilize Ar-Raqqa Governorate,  and through its project "Supporting Agriculture to Farmers - Phase II", the SRTF announced the distribution of personal protection equipment to farmers in cooperatives in three rural areas northeast of Ar-Raqqa Governorate today.

This latest delivery under phase II consisted of 1,080 sets of personal protective equipment that will be used by farmers during pesticide spraying aimed at protecting agricultural crops from harmful insects, pests and weeds.

The project comes at an estimated EUR 6.3 million and will benefit more than 1,000 local farmers,  their families and associated workers. Moreover, the project will cultivate more than 4,000 hectares of land, which will enhance food security and improve the local economy in the targeted areas.
