The SRTF Delivers A Flour Mill & Equipment to Food Security Projects North of Aleppo Governorate

Türkiye – Monday, 28^th October 2019 - The SRTF Management Unit (MU) made new deliveries to its project: “Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate – Phases I & II” today.

The deliveries consisted of one fixed flour mill with milling capacity of 50mt/day, and two portable belt conveyors handed over to the implementing entity (IE) of these projects. The delivered equipment will be stored in a temporary location till the mill shed, which is currently under construction, is ready.

Through this project’s two phases, the SRTF will supply soft wheat to the (IE) as part of the fund's efforts to tackle food insecurity and aims to improve the current shortage of raw materials to ensure bread production to meet the increasing demand for bread for residents of Aleppo's northern countryside. Moreover, the project will also help maintain stable livestock numbers through the availability of bran as animal feed, a by-product obtained after wheat milling.
