The SRTF Delivers Agricultural Implements to Northern Aleppo

Türkiye - Monday, 2^nd March 2020- The SRTF’s management unit (MU) announced the delivery of a new batch of agricultural implements & equipment to the implementing entity (IE) for its project: "Agricultural Support to Farmers in Northern Aleppo".

The equipment delivered included agricultural implements such as cultivators, disc ploughs angle, frame ridgers, seed drills, mounted fertilizer spreaders, pesticide sprayers, double axle trailers, square balers, sorters & harvesters and vertical straw choppers. The delivery complements the delivery of the Agriculture tractors supplied under the same project last month.

With a total budget of EUR 2.4 million, the project -which aims to establish and support 1500 self-managed, economically viable crop farms- will benefit no less than 7500 households directly while indirectly, it expected to benefit around 37,500 beneficiaries. With regards to capacity building, at least 500 persons will receive training in efficient field crop production practices and financial management of field operations. Furthermore, around 30 extension workers will be trained and equipped with the necessary expertise and resources to provide extension services in the project areas.
