The SRTF Announces the Launch of Vocational Technical Training in Ar-Raqqa Governorate

Türkiye – – Friday, 24th  April 2020 - As part of its efforts to support farmers and achieve agricultural stability in Ar-Raqqa Governorate, the SRTF established seven training centers under its project: “Mechanization and Training Centers for Agricultural Equipment in Ar-Raqqa -Phase 1” which  aims to provide technical advisory training services to farmers in number of mechanization and training centers established at number of agricultural cooperatives in targeted areas.


The training workshops, which kicked off today, are carried out by the implementing partner, a non-governmental organization (NGO) with focus on operating and maintaining wheat harvesters which had been supplied to the cooperatives by the SRTF. The training was conducted under the supervision of a specialized team of trainers who provided the participants with the necessary expertise and skills to ensure the effective and safe use of the harvesters during all project implementation stages. The training was held while taking all social distancing and other required precautions to ensure the safety of the trainers and the trainees.

 

The launch of this training event is a major milestone for the SRTF  in terms of agriculture support for farmers in Ar-Raqqa governorate in general, and in preparing farmers for the next harvesting season in a month time,  in particular.

 

With a total budget of EUR 2.6 million, the project will directly benefit up to 200 trainees who shall be recruited for training in the use and maintenance of the agricultural machinery; at least 3.000 farmers will positively benefit from the organized and effective planning in agricultural mechanization services provided through the mechanization centers; in addition to that,  COOP leaders will be trained in administrative and management skills.
