Opening Ceremony Held for an SRTF-Funded Hospital in Northern Aleppo
Türkiye – Sunday, March 7, 2021 – The SRTF is pleased to announce the opening of a newly-rehabilitated hospital in Northern Aleppo. This hospital was rehabilitated under the SRTF health project “Supporting Health Services in Aleppo Governorate”. The inauguration was attended by leading community members and featured a list of high-ranking speakers who discussed the significance of hospital’s opening.
This newly opened hospital includes specialized orthopedics and cardiac care departments. From simple cases to joint and spine surgery, the orthopedics department is fully equipped with the necessary tools and equipment for orthopedic surgery. Meanwhile, the cardiac care department is equipped with the necessary devices for heart diseases, such as the electrocardiogram, pressure monitoring systems, and planning and cardiac care devices. The hospital has 26 fully equipped beds and will be able to operate up to 150 surgeries a day. The opening of this hospital will help reduce the number of medical cases transferred outside of Syria due to the lack of supplies and equipment.
In celebration of this hospital’s opening, the SRTF’s Director General, Eng. Hani Khabbaz, stated, “The services that this hospital will be able to provide will not only improve the health of Syrians but strengthen the community’s capacity to respond to health emergencies in a timely fashion.”
