SRTF Funded Prosthetics Centers in Northeast Syria Receive Rehabilitation Equipment
Northeast Syria – Thursday, October 7, 2021- The SRTF announced that three of its newly established, and recently operational, prosthetics centers received 20 rehabilitation equipment today.
The delivery took place as part of the SRTF’s: “Establishing 3 prosthetics Centers in Northeast Syria” intervention which focuses on improving access to prosthetics to those whose limbs were lost as result of the conflict Northeast Syria (NES).
The delivered equipment will ensure that patients have the proper rehabilitation training they need once they have the prosthesis placed. The delivery included; built in adult and children’s exercise tray with ramp, electric hot compress bags, adult and pediatric parallel, wooden exercise ladder, walker without wheels, auxiliary crutches for adults and for children, elbow crutches, one wheelchair (50cm width), an elastic pouch, sand weights, pillows, balance discs and exercise balls.
This intervention has a duration of eight months, where the first two months were spent setting up the centers in Ar-Raqqa, Deir Ez-Zor, and Al-Hasakeh, hiring, and train the staff, while the last six months the centers will be fully operational. With a budget of EUR 321,640, this intervention is estimated to benefit 1,260 amputees and their families.
