The SRTF Delivers Low Voltage Cables and a Truck to an Electricity Project North of Aleppo

Türkiye’ – Monday, October 18, 2021- The SRTF announced its first delivery to the implementing entity (IE): “Sustainable Energy Solar System for Water Pumping Stations in Rural Areas of North Aleppo-Phase I” project today. The delivery consisted of 1,898 meters of (3x70 mm²) flat, low voltage cables, 200 meters of (3x150+1x70 mm²) low voltage cables, and one lightweight truck.

The cables will be used by the IE’s maintenance teams for the rehabilitation and maintenance of power supply for the water pumps while the lightweight truck will be used by the IE's maintenance teams for mobility during the supervision of the implementation of the operations, maintenance follow up activities.

This delivery comes after the completion of the design phase of this project which aims to install a sustainable and renewable solar system to provide the necessary electric power to seven existing water pumping stations.

This new solar power system will provide a more reliable, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly solution to remedy the damage done to the power resources and infrastructure that happened because of the conflict in Syria.

This electricity project has an estimated budget of EUR 1.8 million and is expected to last 12 months, with an additional six months allocated for post-implementation monitoring and evaluation. Approximately 165,000 people, including a significant number of internally displaced people (IDPs), will directly benefit from this project. Furthermore, an additional 85,000 people are expected to indirectly benefit.
