An SRTF Health Intervention Begins the Distribution of PPE Masks to Schools in Deir Ez-Zor
Deir Ez-Zor- Thursday, November 11, 2021- Under its health intervention; “Provision of Primary and Specialized medical Services in Deir Ez-Zor Governorate”, the SRTF began the delivery process of PPE masks to students and administrative staff as part of the intervention’s preventive measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection around 185 schools in Deir Ez-Zor today.
The delivery of the PPE masks will continue over the course of two months to distribute 38545 masks out of a total of 62000 masks which will be procured and distributed under this intervention. Parallel to the delivery, informative brochures about COVID-19 symptoms, prevention methods and hygiene have been prepared and distributed to students to raise awareness on the pandemic to safeguard against it.
The SRTF’s support under this five-component intervention aims to address critical issues in the health sector in Deir Ez-Zor and include rehabilitation works, procurement of equipment, furniture, lab consumables, as well as securing financials for running costs, and the salaries of technical & administrative staff. The main activities under this project are; the provision of primary healthcare services, supporting a medical laboratory supporting a blood bank, supporting the Thalassemia center and personal protective equipment (PPE) for schools which was delivered today.
With a total budget of EUR 2.5 million and a duration of eight months, this intervention is expected to benefit around 202,124 people in addition to over one million beneficiaries in Deir Ez-Zor indirectly.
