Livestock Breeders in Ar-Raqqa Receive Animal Fodder and Vaccinations Services
Ar-Raqqa- Sunday, 16 January 2022- An SRTF agriculture intervention “Support to Livestock Farmers in Ar-Raqqa Governorate – Phase I” delivers 250 MT of animal concentrated fodder and enterotoxaemia vaccines to cooperatives that support livestock breeders today.
The concentrated fodder includes high nutrient ingredients (energy, protein, minerals, fibers, starch…etc.) and will be consumed by the sheep. As for the vaccines, they will be used to immunize 3500 sheep against enterotoxaemia disease which is a frequent threat to sheep and goats of all ages.
By the end of this intervention, the SRTF expects to achieve positive results including more enabled cooperatives capable of assisting their members by providing inputs, services, and technical assistance; and improved capacity for veterinarians and technicians to better assist cooperatives and livestock breeders.
With a total budget of EUR 1 million and a six-month duration, this intervention is expected to benefit 3,583 farmers and 100 local veterinarians and technicians and around 29,500 people will indirectly benefit from the improved economic circumstances.
