The SRTF-Supported Farmers Plant Onions and Potatoes During the Planting Season

Türkiye’ – Tuesday, 22 February 2022- The SRTF completed the delivery of the total allocated quantities of 250 MT of Alegria potato tubers, 3 MT of onion seeds and 2000 MT of chemical fertilizer to the Implementing Entity (IE) under its project: "Agricultural Support to Farmers in Northern Aleppo". The potato tubers and onion seeds were successfully distributed to 917 farmers in Northern Aleppo.

The farmers started the potato and onion planting season supported by the SRTF Agriculture project which promotes food security by supporting 1,500 self-managed, economically viable crop farms that have access to local markets, suppliers, and relevant business service providers.  

With a total budget of EUR 2.4 million, around 7,500 households will directly benefit from improved access to agricultural inputs from the project while indirectly, around 37,500 beneficiaries will benefit from the project.
