The SRTF Delivers School Furniture and Playground Equipment Under A Cash-for-Work Project in Northern Aleppo

Türkiye – Tuesday, 14 November 2023 – The SRTF announced the delivery of school furniture and playground equipment under its Cash-for-Work (CfW) project: “Rehabilitation of Ten Schools in Rural Areas of Northern Aleppo – Phase I”.

The furniture and equipment included desks, bookcases, chairs for visitors, office chairs, ceiling fans, diesel heaters with their accessories, heater pipes, water coolers, seesaws, and spring riders. This delivery follows the completion of reparation and restoration works at eight schools.

The overall aim of the project is to promote individuals’ livelihoods and economic stability, especially focusing on skilled and semi-skilled workers, enabling them to secure basic income for their households through CfW opportunities, while also providing students with access to a safer, more suitable, and more hygienic learning environment.

This will in turn contribute to mitigating the issues of unemployment and extreme poverty in the targeted areas, preventing children from being forced into child marriage and child labour.

With a budget of EUR 1 million, this project is expected dot directly benefit 5,560 students and 230 individuals through CfW opportunities, in addition to 30,050 of their family members indirectly, throughout the project’s 24-month life cycle.
