The SRTF Delivers Orthopaedic Implants and Medication to Boost the Health Sector in Northern Aleppo

Türkiye – Wednesday, 5 March 2025 – The SRTF delivers orthopaedic implants to a hospital and medication to the Implementing Entity (IE) under its projectSupport for Health Services in the Northern Aleppo Countryside – Phase III”, today.

These deliveries are part of the medical consumables and services provided in one health centre and two hospitals under this phase, which also include expanding ambulance response services, operating one laboratory and maintaining an oxygen generator, operational costs and pharmaceutical services.

Building on the successes of Phase I and Phase II, Phase III resumes the provision of high-quality health care services to enhance child health, reproductive health, the treatment of communicable and non-communicable diseases, nutritional needs, and mental health and psychosocial support. It also continues to provide medication and conduct minor rehabilitation works of facilities, with the aim of improving access to high-quality and scarce specialised health care services, increasing the availability of health information, resourcing a responsive health system to mitigate the risk of emerging new health threats and harmonising standards and practices through integrated service delivery across facilities. Moreover, such efforts will continue under Phase IV which was approved at the end of 2024.

With a budget of EUR 2.94 million, such efforts aim to benefit 171,931 individuals, including 171,660 patients and 271 IE staff members, over a period of 12 months, with an additional six months for post-implementation monitoring and evaluation. This will contribute to an improvement in the overall health conditions, thereby, stabilising communities in the area.
