The SRTF Delivers Spare Parts for Heavy Equipment to the Syrian Civil Defense

Türkiye - Thursday, 20 March 2025 – The SRTF has delivered a new shipment of spare parts for the maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment under its project: "Emergency Response in Northern Aleppo – Civil Defence Operations". This delivery aims to continue to enhance the operational readiness of Syrian Civil Defense teams, enabling them to improve disaster response capabilities and save lives under challenging conditions.

These spare parts will allow the Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets, to service and maintain their equipment more efficiently, ensuring sustained functionality in life-saving operations and humanitarian response efforts.

The SRTF’s emergency response after the earthquake was approved in multiple phases, with funding allocated to critical sectors, including health, food security, and support to the operations of the Syrian Civil Defense.

As for Syrian Civil Defense support, the SRTF allocated EUR 1.93 million to sustain search and rescue operations and enhance community preparedness for future earthquakes and aftershocks. This funding will support earthquake safety awareness and first aid campaigns, the procurement of essential spare parts for heavy rescue vehicles, and structural assessments of damaged buildings to facilitate the safe return of civilians to their homes.
