Provision of Primary Health Care Services in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate- Phase II
In response to the need to continue to support, and improve the health sector in Northeast Syria, the SRTF approved phase II of the health intervention, “Provision of Primary Health Care Services in Deir-ez-Zor Governorate.”
The intervention aims to provide comprehensive essential health services to already existing primary health care centers PHCCs in Deir-ez-Zor and to support one Level-3 PHCC, one Level-4 PHCC, and one Mobile clinic that were established in Phase I of the same project. Moreover, it will provide non-communicable chronic disease medications kits (NCD kits) to health facilities in targeted areas in the DEZ Governorate.
The proposed services include children’s and reproductive health; prevention and control of communicable diseases; prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases; mental health; dental and oral healthcare; community health and nutrition services; and the supporting services, including lab, pharmacies, and ambulances.
In more detail, the intervention activities include supporting a comprehensive primary healthcare centre in one location; supporting a Level-3 primary healthcare centre in a second location; supporting health services at one mobile clinic; supporting the primary healthcare centres in Deir-Ez-Zor with 45 non-communicable chronic disease medications kits (NCD kits).
With a total budget of EUR 1.8 million, this 12 month intervention is estimated to benefit around 359,128 patients during its life cycle.
