Electricity

The MU will consider projects in the electricity sector, including but not limited to:

• Rehabilitation of electricity distribution grids and lines;
• Rehabilitation of transformers or substations;
• Rehabilitation of electricity distribution grids and their extension to contiguous communities that have grown up at the edge of the grid;
• Rehabilitation of high and medium tension transmission lines and substations that will benefit local electricity distribution;
• Projects for dedicated power lines for public services whenever relevant (e.g. water pumps);
• Urgent maintenance and spare parts of hydro and thermal power generation stations supplying SOC controlled areas; and,
• Procurement of minor stand-alone energy generating units, especially sustainable solar or wind powered sources supporting public service entities.
